Crossrail is good news for Maidenhead students

Three pupils from Claires Court School in Maidenhead visited Crossrail HQ at the beginning of this month as part of the ‘BBC News School Report 2011’.

The year 9 pupils created a special news report focusing on their local area of Maidenhead as part of a national BBC project involving more than 30,000 pupils.

When the service opens Crossrail trains will travel from Maidenhead and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east via new twin tunnels under central London. This will significantly improve transport links from Maidenhead to London, so the pupils decided to dedicate one of their three features to the new transport scheme.

Their news report – featuring an interview with Crossrail Chief Executive, Rob Holden – is available to view on their website.
