Lorry driver training update
Crossrail’s Logistics Team reached a major milestone last month when they delivered the 50th session of the Crossrail Lorry Driver Induction Training Course.
All regular drivers of Crossrail vehicles over 3.5 tonnes - including concrete mixers, tippers, articulated low loaders and plant hire vehicles - are required to complete the course. The course content – which aims to improve behaviour and attitude - is continuously fine-tuned based on feedback from the drivers, collision statistics and changes in the law.
Since the training began in November 2009 the team has trained 794 drivers of large goods vehicles.
